This is an outdoor environmental action event that allows individuals and families in McLean to actively participate in and foster interest about our local community’s environmental needs and solutions by embracing shredding, reusing, recycling and planting. This event will help our community members to better understand their connection to the earth as a whole and to engage in environmentally beneficial action in an enjoyable, entertaining and welcoming atmosphere.

Document Shredding
ShredInstead will provide onsite document shredding for up to five file boxes of paper per household.


Paint Collection
Yuck Old Paint will provide onsite paint collection of up to five cans of wet paint per household. The collection is limited to 140 paint cans for the total event. 

Bulk/Household Items
College Hunks Hauling Junk will accept bulk or household items (furniture, clothing, school supplies, technology). The company has partnered with Habitat for Humanity and Goodwill to recycle donated bulk/household items.


Tree Seedlings
Bartlett Tree Experts will provide tree seedlings for event participants to plant at home.

Pollinator Seeds
Lilac seed packets will be provided for participants to plant at home.
