4/1/20 COVID-19 Response Update 
Effective Friday, March 27, at 5 p.m., all Fairfax County Government buildings are closed to the public. This closure will remain in effect indefinitely in an effort to reduce the risk of COVID-19 virus transmission. Additionally, Fairfax County strongly urges residents to follow the stay-at-home order issued by Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam on Monday, March 30. A Resource for the McLean Community
Want to help others or need help yourself? The Fairfax County Community Covid Aid Project is a charity started at McLean High School to connect volunteers with those in need in our community during this difficult time. The organization runs a database where McLean residents can access services, like grocery shopping and online tutoring, by requesting help from a group of dedicated volunteers. All volunteers are Fairfax County residents, who have signed up through the website, https://www.fairfaxcountycovidaid.org.

McLean Community Center Holds Open Finance Meeting and Public Hearing
on FY 2015 Budget in September

08/01/13, McLean, VA—The Governing Board of the McLean Community Center (MCC) will hold two meetings on its Proposed FY 2015 budget in September. A Finance Committee Meeting of the Whole and a Public Hearing will be held beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept 16, at the Center.

Piggy BankThe Finance Committee Meeting of the Whole will be chaired by MCC’s Treasurer Craig Richardson, who is chair of the Board’s Finance Committee. MCC is supported by a real estate tax surcharge paid by residents of Small District 1A-Dranesville. During the meeting, Board committees will present their recommendations on how to finance Center programs and events for FY 2015, which begins July 1, 2014 and ends June 30, 2015. The full Board will discuss the recommendations and consider revisions to the budget proposals.

Copies of the proposed budget will be available at the Center’s reception desk, online and at the meeting. District residents who have suggestions, comments or concerns will have an opportunity to voice them at the meeting. In addition, residents who call the Center to announce their intentions to attend the session will receive a budget package when they arrive.

The Public Hearing will be held immediately following the work session. District residents who wish to speak at the public hearing are asked to call 703-790-0123, TTY: 711, to have their names placed on the speakers’ list. Written comments may be sent to the Governing Board by mail (address to: McLean Community Center, 1234 Ingleside Avenue, McLean VA 22101), fax (703-556-0547) or email. Residents may continue to submit written comments after the public hearing, until the Board meets at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, to approve the FY 2015 budget.
