McLean Project for the Arts, founded in 1962, has been offering exhibitions of fine contemporary art, highly regarded art classes and art education outreach programs to the McLean area for 50 years. Festivities are planned throughout 2012 as MPA looks toward the future.

MPA will officially launch the celebration of its 50th year with a “Pop-Up” party at an off-site locationindowntownMcLean. (February-March,2012)
MPA@50 Special Exhibition (April-June, 2012) An extraordinary exhibition will be curated by past MPA exhibition directors will highlight the history of MPA through its artists.
Spring Benefit: MPA@50 and Beyond
Set to take place at historic Salona on Thursday, May 10, 2012, the ever-popular annual MPA Spring Benefit will be the centerpiece of MPA’s 50th celebration.
MPA Painting in the Park; Art-lovers of all ages are invited to participate in an outdoor art activity with cupcakes to celebrate 50 years of “connecting art and community” with MPA’s renowned art classes, workshops and art education. (April-May, 2012)
The 6th annual MPAartfest
In October, 2012 MPAartfest will celebrate MPA@50 as art-lovers flock to McLean Central Park to see the work of 40+ local and regional juried artists. With live music, a children’s art walk, arts activities for all ages, local food and more, MPAartfest is a unique event that truly connects art and community.
