The Alden Theatre’s Summer Theatre Workshops have been providing high-quality theatre training for children for more than 18 years. These lively and creative summer programs offer young actors in second to ninth grade an opportunity to develop their skills in the areas of acting, voice, movement and stagecraft. Led by a staff of theater professionals, students will participate in a variety of theatrical experiences.

For rising 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders

Masks
9:30 a.m.-12 noon

This workshop is an introduction to the basics of acting through the use of masks in the telling of stories. This half-day workshop will have classes in acting and mask making. There will be a final presentation the last day of the workshop. Students can take both the morning and the afternoon session and also sign up for the Center’s supervised lunch option.
Puppets
1 p.m.-3:30 p.m.

The Actor

This workshop is designed for the student who wants to be on stage! Classes for the actor will include scene work, improvisation, voice, movement and characterization. There will be a final presentation on the last day of the workshop.
