This two-week day camp invites young people ages 12-16* to investigate the artistry and process of classic theatre in performance under the guidance of Shakespeare Theatre Company Teaching Artists. Each summer, the faculty creates a unique curriculum aimed at optimizing students’ physical, intellectual and artistic development. Students will explore an array of characters from a play by Shakespeare, culminating in a final performance for friends and family. A typical day at Camp Shakespeare includes: acting, games, rehearsals, movement and stage combat—a total immersion in the tools that an actor needs to perform Shakespeare.

This summer, Camp Shakespeare in McLean will focus on A Midsummer Night’s Dream and will take place July 14–July 26. Classes will be held Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. with a morning performance on Saturday, July 26. Tuition is $675.
