Class Refund Policy—New Policy Effective August 18, 2008

The Center issues refunds when the Center cancels a class or activity. The Center also issues refunds when the Center changes a class or an activity and the change makes it impossible for the customer to continue with the class. Please note, the Center cancels a class one week prior to the start date if the class does not meet the minimum enrollment.

Requests for refunds or class withdrawals must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the class start date to receive a full refund. After that time, refunds only will be given for medical issues that preclude continuation in the class. A doctor's note is required.  Absences and personal scheduling conflicts are not reimbursable. Refunds may be requested via fax (703-556-0547), via E-mail, in person or through the mail.

• All other refunds require a written request to the Registrar.
• Waiting lists will be maintained once a class has reached its enrollment maximum capacity. Members of one household should register using the name of one adult member of the family; please use this name with each registration.
• Refund request forms are available at the Center’s reception desk or online.

Tours Policies 
Please note that most of our tours require a fair amount of walking. Participants should be fit and able to handle the activities included in the tour. Participants requiring extraordinary assistance must be accompanied by someone who can and will be totally responsible for providing all required assistance. MCC retains the right to decline, to accept or retain any person as a member of a tour when such action is deemed to be in the best interest of the health, safety or general welfare of the tour group or of the individual concerned.
The tours usually use a charter motorcoach for transportation, which come equipt with reclining seats and restrooms.  Tour participants must arrive fifteen (15) minutes before the scheduled departure time. Senior discounts do not apply to tours. 

Tours Refund Policy

• If you are registering for an overnight tour it is strongly recommended that you purchase trip cancellation insurance. Forms are available at the Center. Some tours include the cost of trip cancellation insurance; this will be noted in the tour description. 
• Deposits for overnight trips are nonrefundable unless a substitute can be found once.  Initial deposits include the cost of trip cancellation insurance.
• Should you wish to decline trip cancellation insurance, you must decline in writing at the time of paying your deposit.

Cancellations from date of final payment up to 45 days prior to departure will result in a forfeiture of 50 percent of the total amount paid. For cancellations within 44 days of departure, there will be no refunds given. 

Tour Payment
Checks must be made out to the company listed within the tour description. No credit cards or cash accepted.  Please note: due to the escalating cost of fuel, some tour fees may result in an additional charge.
