Ballet Petite™
Ballet Petite dancers experience the art of ballet through imagery, song, creative movement and rhymes. Emphasis on music, etiquette and spatial awareness promote the magical ambiance associated with the culture of dance. Each lesson includes a carefully selected story, which the children will bring to life in a performance at the conclusion of class with elegant costumes and props to transform their surroundings into an enchanted place for dance and excitement.
Classical Child I
Dancers will enjoy warm-ups and ballet progressions with new concepts presented each week, exposing students to basic positions and terminology through creative lessons that capture the imagination. New stories will be presented every other week in two acts and then performed with handmade costumes and props to bring their favorite characters to life through dance.

Classical Child II
For age 4. Students experience new concepts in movement and musicality while working to fine tune their motor skills. The warm-ups and ballet progressions advance each week giving the children exposure to a wide array of dance skills. The narrative stories presented over the course of two weeks in two acts help children to develop their story-telling, acting and performance skills through beautiful handmade costumes, props and the love of dance.

Introduction to Ballet
For ages 4.5-5.5 years. Students are introduced to more advanced concepts in movement and music, preparing them for the rigors of future academic ballet study. Concentration is placed on fine tuning motor skills, building teamwork and expanding a sense of spatial awareness. Story ballets are presented in two acts with engaging classical ballet stories, beautiful handmade costumes and delicate props.

Primary Ballet
For ages 5-6. Students will learn curriculum based on the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, introducing pre-ballet training, including a traditional ballet warm-up and progressions across the floor. Beginning ballet technique is entwined with enchainment’s (little dances), free movement, character and pantomime.

JOY OF DANCE
Joy of Dance is a progressive dance training program. Children will learn dance steps that will build upon each other. Students advance in a systematic manner. Fall 2008 priority placement will be provided to those students who where enrolled in theWinter/Spring 2008 session. Vacancies will be filled with new fall registrants. All classes have a dress code. Please pick up a dance attire catalog at the registration office. Parent Watch Day will conclude the fall semester. Combination II, III and IV/V will have the option to perform in Frosty Follies in the Alden Theatre in December. All Joy of Dance students will also have the option to perform in a recital in June. Students who perform in optional events will incur a costume/performance fee.
Ballet & Tap (Pre-Primary I)
For ages 3.5-4. Little dancers will love this enchanting adventure in dance exploration. This class includes 25 minutes of beginning tap skills and tap routines and 20 minutes of pre-primary classical ballet and expressive movement. Children have fun and gain rhythm, grace, poise, coordination and musicality using magical props: scarves, bean bags, hula hoops, parachutes and costumes. As in all of our classes, the children receive a gift that lasts a lifetime—the joy of dance!
