Saturday, November 3 at 1 p.m. Pianist, scholar and humorist John Eaton explores the career and life of American composer Cole Porter in this lecture/recital. Musical virtuosity and insightful commentary reveal the secrets of composer-lyricist porter's magic: Porter's songs, arising from their wonderful melodic foundation, combined with his incomparable lyrics, meld melancholy and joy. Eaton brings his unique interpretations to this amazing music with his performances of "Begin the Beguine," "Night and Day," "Anything Goes" and many more. Please note that this is a lecture with musical examples, not a concert performance.
