Each year the McLean Community Center recognizes the hard work and talent of young performing and visual artists through the James C. Macdonald Scholarship Competition. Following a preliminary audition and a final round of competition, prizes (1st - $1,200, 2nd - $800, 3rd - $400) are awarded in each of four categories: Dance, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts. High School Students grades 9 - 12 who reside or attend school in the McLean Tax District (Small District One of Dranesville) are eligible to apply. Application forms and guideline information are available at the Community Center's reception desk and below.
Students may enter more than one category.
A non-refundable, $15 fee is required for each application form submitted. Early Bird Special - $5 application fee for applications received before February 1.
